It offers a unique free experience for the public, giving insight into the workings of the New Zealand economy, the current functions of the Reserve Bank, and its history.
Displays show how the country developed from a barter system used by early traders and settlers to today's modern banking system. See the remarkable MONIAC hydraulic computer, explore the interactive displays, and see unique examples of New Zealand's currency history, along with a selection of rare and ancient coins.
The Centre offers free class educational presentations for Years 6 to 13, with specialist lectures for senior classes, presented by qualified economists and geared for the curriculum.
