Wellington Paintball enjoys a good reputation as one of the region's best places to have some splattering fun. Tawa, just south of Porirua, and Manor Park/Pomare, in the Lower Hutt area, are two of the most well known paintballing hotbeds. You have acres of woodland, valleys and copses to go shooting around, and all operators are highly experienced. Some centres have a cafe, to unwind in after, and all have proper equipment for hire. It's up to you to wear the right shoes and clothes (leave the designer labels at home), but the paint is non-toxic and easy to wash out of hair and fabric, so all you really need to bring is a sense of fun and your best running shoes.
