Directions to A Day Out Tours
Personal, professional guided tours around the Wairarapa region. Small groups ensure a relaxed and interactive atmosphere. Fun and informative.
A Day Out Tours is run by Jim, a Wairarapa native for 50 years, so you know you're getting expert knowledge. After a pick up in Wellington or the Hutt Valley, you'll travel over the spectacular Rimutaka Mountains and towards Greytown. En route, you'll stop by the fascinating POW camp at Featherston. Once at Greytown, you'll have time to investigate the shops and boutiques of this historic community, as well as drop in at the speciality chocolate shop for some sweet treats.
Enjoy lunch overlooking the Cook Strait, before going on to the serene vineyards of Martinborough for some indulgent wine tasting. Relax by Cape Palliser, then sample traditional Kiwi life in the Ngawi fishing village, where you'll also see an incredible colony of fur seals.
Also on offer, is a Wairarapa tour while en route to the start of the Tora Coastal Walk. You'll fit in most of the standard tour around Martinborough and Greytown, and be dropped off at Tora around 4-5pm.
