Bluebridge Cook Strait Ferries

Wellington

Scenic Cruises Ferries

This must-do journey across Cook Strait takes about 3.5 hours.  You’ll experience some of the world’s most breath-taking scenery and love getting there with Bluebridge.

Their two modern ships sail between downtown Wellington and the Marlborough Sounds 50 times a week carrying passengers and vehicles on a range of budgets.  The Wellington terminal is conveniently located in central city and the Picton terminal is near the town centre, with a free shuttle bus offering drop-offs and pick-ups.

Renowned for their warm Kiwi hospitality, Bluebridge has been keeping shiploads of travellers happy since 1995.  You’ll enjoy a taste of New Zealand with fresh local food prepared by their on board chefs that you can wash down with Wellington Caffe L’affare coffee, New Zealand craft beer or award-winning Marlborough wine.

Both of their ships have plenty of viewing decks with picnic tables on Strait Feronia to enjoy al fresco dining.  You can use their free WiFi to share your experience on Instagram or Facebook.  They have the fastest, uninterrupted, free WiFi on Cook Strait that you can use for the entire crossing.

Their ships are kid-friendly with free movies and activity packs.  There are free recent release movies for adults too.  The Strait Feronia ship has a spacious kid’s room with movies and toys, plus a Quiet Lounge for adults who want somewhere to read.

For supreme comfort you can upgrade to a private cabin with ensuite to rest, store your belongings and have a hot shower.  They have a range of cabin sizes, from single to five berth family options.  If you’re heading south from Wellington during the week, Bluebridge offer an overnight sleeper service.  You can check into your cabin before midnight and awake refreshed at 6am in Picton.
