Description

After disembarking your cruise ship, meet at Wellington Port at 9:15am for a shuttle to Kaitoke, the starting point of this flagship 6-hour shore excursion. You’ll be fitted with a comfortable, height-customised eBike (choose between step-thru or mountain bike frames) along with a helmet and repair kit.

The ride follows a gradual incline through native bush, passing through historic railway tunnels and over bridges. Informational signs explain the construction of the old Fell railway system. Reach the summit’s grassy plateau, ideal for a picnic lunch provided in your packed lunch and water.

The return journey descends easily to Cross Creek in the Wairarapa farmland. You can either meet the 2:15pm shuttle from Featherston back to the port or continue cycling 10km north to Featherston and The Fell Locomotive Museum for pickup along the route. Arrival back at Wellington Port is approximately 3:45-4:00pm. Ensure your sailing schedule accommodates this timing; the operator cannot be held responsible for missed departures.
