Restaurant 88 is a fully licensed central Wellington restaurant offering Vietnamese cuisine
The décor is simple allowing the focus to be on the food, which encompasses the many flavours of the county's food. Owned and run by Luke who was born in Saigon before moving to New Zealand with his family, the menu features many of his favourite dishes made with skills honed in his mother's kitchen and lessons with a Malaysian cooking teacher.
Dishes include salt and pepper baby chicken with lotus leaf wrapped rice and beef noodle soup. Desserts are a mixture of classic dishes such as brownies and Vietnamese favourites such as steamed banana leaf wrapped sticky rice pudding.
