Nestled deep within the stunning Te Awa Kairangi Valley, this journey takes you through 10.5 kilometres of remote native bush, rugged canyon walls and breathtaking New Zealand scenery that few people ever get to experience.
Your adventure begins with a scenic shuttle into the upper reaches of the valley, where our experienced guides will provide a full safety briefing and paddling instruction before launching onto the river. From the moment you push away from shore, you'll be immersed in a pristine natural environment surrounded by towering rimu, mānuka, kāmahi, and regenerating native forest.
As you travel downstream, you'll navigate over 60 exciting rapids, winding through narrow gorges, rocky outcrops, and beautiful wilderness landscapes.
