Description
Start with a shuttle from Wellington to Kaitoke, where a gradual uphill ride through native bush leads you into the historic fell railway tunnels and bridges. At the summit, enjoy a large grassy plateau ideal for a picnic or cold drink before a controlled descent to Cross Creek in the Wairarapa, surrounded by farmland. From Cross Creek, cycle along a 2km single lane track to the car park, then follow a quiet 10km road cycle path north to Featherston cafes and pubs.
The tour concludes with a 2:15pm pick-up in Featherston and a return shuttle to Wellington Station or Wellington Port (for cruise ship guests).
