Otari-Wilton's Bush

Free to enter, the Otari-Wilton Bush is the country's only botanical gardens dedicated to native plants. Hiking tails, Canopy Walkway and 800 year old Rimu all await the visitor.

The gardens comprise of 5 hectares while native bush covers 90 hectares. In addition to over 10 kilometres of walking trails, there is a canopy walkway, perched 18 metres above the ground, giving fantastic views of the bush landscape. The park is only 10 minutes drive from the city centre, includes a visitor centre, free parking and has plenty of places to stop for picnics.
