Dockside Restaurant and Bar
Wellington
The retractable roof means you can enjoy al fresco dining in the sun and also be protected when the weather takes a turn for the worse.
Dockside Restaurant & Bar offers a unique contrast of old and new in a historic building with a contemporary feel.
As one might expect with a prime waterfront location, in the heart of Queens Wharf, the theme strongly hints at maritime and seafood has pride of place on the menu. The outdoor dining area is one of the largest over water in the southern hemisphere. Sitting on the deck with a cold glass of Marlborough Dry Riesling and a plate of salt and pepper squid overlooking sparkling blue-green water is an unbeatable dining experience.
Worried about the legendary temperamental Wellington weather? The retractable roof allows you to bask in the sunshine or take refuge from the elements when they prevail - your al fresco dining need not be disturbed by wind or rain.
Classic Kiwi seafood dishes such as Whitebait Fritters, Oysters and Green Lip Mussels make a regular appearance on the menu alongside the freshest daily catches from the local seafood market. Despite an emphasis on fish and crustaceans the menu also features lamb, duck, steak, chicken and even a sumptuous vegetarian tasting plate.
The waterside deck and inside bar are lively and sociable spots in the evenings, particularly on the weekend. Both bar areas are popular with after work drinkers, sports fans cheering on the game, or live music followers lighting up the dance floor as local bands rock the house.
Dockside Restaurant and Bar is available as a venue for special occasions, such as Birthdays, Weddings, Christmas Functions and Company Events.
