From a beautiful three level repurposed historic building., BATS Theatre nurtures creative talent and showcases exciting New Zealand performances. 

The buzzing all year round programme is an alternative mash-up of theatre, dance, improv, stand-up, and experimental work. 

The theatre partners in the development of exciting and bold performance. The combination of digital and live art is bolstering BATS as a hub of creativity while showcasing diverse festival activity.

The not-for-profile theatre believes that experiencing theatre should be affordable . A ticket to a BATS’ show is usually around $15.

Whether you are hosting a conference, private function or just need a creative workshop space, BATS Theatre has a building that's perfect for functions, workshops and events.  All BATS’ theatre spaces come fully equipped with high quality sound and lighting gear which can be accessed with prior arrangement. Some furniture is available on request.
