Katherine Mansfield is New Zealand's most famous author, and was born and raised in Wellington.
Her childhood home still stands in Tinakori Road, and today is maintained as a museum exploring her life and work. The house was restored in the 1980s and was first opened to the public in 1988 on what would have been Katherine Mansfield's 100th birthday.
Exhibitions offer visitors the chance to find out more about life in Wellington in the 1800s, and how it influenced her work.
The garden has also been replanted in a style similar to when Mansfield's family would have lived in the house.
The venue is also available for weddings, garden parties, and small functions such as book launches. The house is closed on Mondays.
