Star Time | Wellington Jazz Festival

Wellington

Fresh off their June 2026 debut album release, Star Time returns to the Wellington Jazz Festival for yet another epic showdown at San Fran!

Star Time is a high energy Afrobeat jazz ensemble which arose from the ever growing jazz and African music scenes in Te-Whanganui-A-Tara. Led by the charismatic Rwandan-born vocalist Francois Judah, and backed by a massive 8-piece band, they aim to deliver a sonically unforgettable experience in the form of traditional Afrobeat dance rhythms, and spontaneous live arrangements which have set audiences on fire since their formation in 2024.

Star Time has continuously honed in on their signature fusion of afrobeat, dance music and jazz in a way that highlights their undeniably contagious energy as a group. Releasing their debut album ‘WE ARE HERE’ in 2026, this body of work boldly cemented their sound, rooted in homage to African music and rhythms, with the aim of uniting all people on the dance floor.

San Fran holds a Supervised License. Minors are welcome to attend events at San Fran so long as they are accompanied by a legal guardian at all times whilst at the venue.
